I believe that naturopathy is the best way to approach any health
issue instead of considering allopathic treatment as one and only solution. I
don’t need to mention the side effects and all the harm that allopathic
treatment has done to humanity. Don’t get me wrong, I am not opposing
allopathic treatment but simply saying that it should be used in case of
emergency only when you need immediate result. If you have time and patience
(which most of us have) naturopathy will be the best way to solve our health
problems

As it is said that WE
ARE WHAT WE EAT. Eating right gives us sound health while eating wrong can
cause serious health problems. Here are five white slow poisons that we use
daily which should be replaced by healthy food.
1. White/Polished Rice
Rice is one of the slow poisons that we use daily. White rice
is considered as a slow poison because rice is in brown form naturally. It
becomes white only after polishing in the mill. When brown layer from rice is
removed it loses its vitamins and minerals particularly, vitamin B and
roughest. Lack of vitamin B can cause loss of memory power, sleeplessness and
other mental imbalance while lack of roughest can lead us to constipation.
White rice is
simple carbohydrate so the glucose contained in white rice mixes directly into
blood stream and the amount of glucose increases dramatically which gives us
instant energy but if the amount of glucose is high for long time then it can
cause sugar. Due to the presence of brown layer, the brown rice only release
required amount of glucose in the body gradually which allows you to stay
energetic all day long.
So it is wise idea to use nutritionally rich brown rice
instead of white rice.
2. Flour
It is the
second slow poison which we consume. It is used more widely than white rice. It
is used to make different food products like pizza, cake, biscuits, breads etc.
It is as harmful as white rice because most of the nutrients are destroyed in
the process of making it white and roughest free. The amounts of nutrients
which get destroyed are as follows:

Therefore it is clear that consuming flour (flour without
roughest) is just the waste of money and health.
3. Vegetable Ghee
It is the third slow poison which is mainly used in Indian
and Nepali cooking as the alternative of traditional ghee. It is better to
avoid vegetable ghee because it is obtained from vegetable oil which is boiled
in 700 degree Celsius. Even a trace of nutrition is not left after exposing
vegetable oil in such a high temperature. It only acts as the liquid plastic
disturbing the whole digestive system.
4. White salt
White salt or simply salt which we use on daily basis is
another slow poison that have negative effect in our health. This doesn’t meant
to say that one should stop using salt right now but scientists suggest that we
should not use more than two gram of salt per day. Over use of salt in food can
lead us to different kind of diseases like high blood pressure, heart diseases
and it also increase the probability of cancer. So it is wise to use salt not
more than two grams a day.
5. White sugar
It is the most dangerous among all the slow poison mentioned
because it directly affects our mind. Researchers conducted a research among
Australian students and they found out that the students who have difficulty in
concentration and other aspects of study were using white sugar much more than
other students. Based on this fact Australian doctors warned all the parents
saying “If you don’t want to make your child stupid, please don’t give him/her
white sugar.”
The reason behind this is that white sugar takes out magnesium from food
which passes out of our body with urine instead of being utilized. It is
suggested to use brown sugar as far as possible.
